Do you have a pet?

Here in Duxbury, MA we all know and love our pets, and the time we spend with them. Unfortunately, pets also come with a variety of issues. One of which being pet odor and stains in your home. Urine in carpeting is a severe problem that can sometimes require major restoration work, not just simple cleaning and treating.

Why is it important to treat your carpet?

Urine deposited on carpet does not stay there, it penetrates the fibers and contaminates both the backing of the carpet and the flooring material below the carpet. Often pets will continue to urinate in the same location over and over sometimes without you even knowing. Urine can seep into the flooring underneath the carpeting and also the framework of your house.

What about when it's dry?

As urine dries, the liquid evaporates, but the urine crystals become even more concentrated and pungent. Simple cleaning will not remove this odor.

Is there a way to remove the smell and stain?

Until recently, there was not a product available that was effective at removing urine odors. South Shore Chem-Dry offers a one of a kind proven solution.

South Shore Chem-Dry’s Pet Urine Removal Treatment (P.U.R.T.®). Our fast-acting solution not only removes the urine odor but breaks up the urine crystals deep inside the carpet allowing us to eliminate the odors permanently. This product has shown excellent results on even the most severe urine and other odor-causing spots by working to stop the smell at its source instead of merely masking the odor.

Sound too good to be true?

99.9% of odors are removed 99.2% of bacteria from pet urine is removedAn independent laboratory conducted multiple tests of P.U.R.T.®. In tests against the most common odor sources found in dog and cat urine, the study concluded that P.U.R.T.® removes an average of 99.9% of pet urine odors from carpets. When coupled with our Hot Carbonating extraction the study found our system to remove an average of 99.2% of bacteria from pet urine stains in carpets.

How P.U.R.T.® Works

  1. The source and severity of the odor are determined, then the carpet will be rinsed and extracted with a hot water rinse to remove the bulk of the urine crystals.
  2. In worst cases, the carpet is pulled back in the suspected areas to reveal the extent of the damage.*
  3. If necessary, the pad will be removed and replaced.*
  4. An odor blocking shellac may be applied to the sub-floor if determined necessary.*
  5. P.U.R.T.® will then be applied heavily to the tack strip, the sub floor, the baseboards and the carpet backing. It is necessary to apply this product heavily enough to dampen all areas affected by the urine. *
  6. Over the next 24 to 36 hours, the ingredients in P.U.R.T.® will react with the urine, and break down the odor causing components.

Additional charges based on your unique situation will apply for services. The locally operated service provider may not have all tools required for select services.
